Jul 16, 2017 Cannot connect an Alesis Crimson II Hi-Hat Pedal to Impact XT in Studio One 4. Presence XT natural drum kit (or any other for that matter) have close or pedal hat cut off open hat When I open a Studio One 2 song in studio one 3, the presence instruments are are garbled.
Presence XT is the new powerful sampler that ships with Studio One 3, but you may not be aware of some things you can do with it. Russ shares some of the cool behind the scenes features that can help improve workflow and transform the sound you get in your productions. https://ketree256.weebly.com/blog/core-garageband-11-free-download.
Load The Instrument+FX Patches
Not only are there great sampler patches in Presence XT but the team at PreSonus have created what they call Instument+FX patches. These are a preset plus some of the plugins to give even more realism, for example a guitar sound through Ampire, Delay and Chorus. It can make a lot of difference so those are a good place to start when searching for a great sound. See the main image above.
- Presence XT Editor unlocks the Edit Page of Presence XT, the built-in sample player instrument of Studio One. This add-on turns a great-sounding instrument into a powerful sound design tool for musicians, producers, and sound-designers.
- May 20, 2015 If you're thinking about making PreSonus Studio One your main DAW, or are searching for an overview of what’s new in this amazing update to Studio One, don’t miss “Studio One 3 Explained.
- Download Presonus Nearness XT Manager for Studio one. Full disconnected installer independent arrangement of Presonus Nearness XT Manager for Studio one.Presonus Nearness XT Editorial manager for Studio one is an overwhelming application which opens the Nearness XT altering page which is manufactured onto the Studio One device player.
- Continuing our look at the built-in instruments in Studio One 4.6, it’s time to turn to Presence XT.At first glance, it looks like just a sampler player and it is; however, looking a little deeper (and with the right key) we can find some powerful tools that will turn Presence XT into, essentially, a highly usable sampler.
Reduce CPU Load
If you need to reduce some of the load on your computer then you can reduce the voice count in any patch you are using, simply click in the box to the right of the voice count and then either use your mouse or type in a value. It defaults to 64 but seldom do you need to have it set to 64 for many of the patches.
You can reduce the height of the GUI by hiding items like the effects and the keyboard, it's just a case of hitting the buttons shown to hide/show them. Garageband won t download on my mac. Useful when working on a laptop.
Resize The Built In Keyboard
If you want to make the built in keyboard wider, or move what you see of the keyboard you simply do this by pressing shift then with your mouse dragging left to right to move it and up and down to resize the scale.
Articulations Are Already Set In The Editor
If you want to use articulations in your sounds (and you should) then you can see what keys the articulations are set to by opening the editor and clicking on the drum icon top left, then you'll see that the team at PreSonus have already helpfully mapped them for you. Articulations are a samples of the instrument played in a different way such as a muted bass, open bass and harmonics - it takes a performance from OK to amazing when done well.

| Hey folks, I've installed two Presence XT sound sets, 'Keyboards' and 'Strings' and S1 agrees they're installed, I've got them properly located in Options, but neither the Browser or the preset drop-down list in Presence XT shows any XT sounds or instruments - just the older V2 presets. Possibly it's because I haven't installed all the XT Sound Sets, but I doubt it. I've actually got them in two folders. In the first the Sound Sets have a little yellow lock icon which, I think, only says they're not shared on my PC network. Anyway, I copied them to a second folder, also specified in Options as a location, and the icons vanished. Everything I've tried, I've done system restarts, etc. No luck.. any ideas? Thanks for any help. Oh.. Win 7, 64 bit. Last edited by GMHague on Mon May 25, 2015 11:59 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
| Please go to the Browser home screen an click re-index presets. That should bring up the presets. | Are you running the demo version? | arndkaiser wroteAre you running the demo version? No, a full professional version. Might have to put in a ticket for this one. I reckon it's somehow because I've only installed two of the sound sets. |
| GMHague wrote.. neither the Browser or the preset drop-down list in Presence XT shows any XT sounds or instruments - just the older V2 presets. Here is what I'm seeing after having installed all soundsets. I'll limit this to Strings because this should be sufficient to let you know whether you have a match or not. Under Presence > Artist Instruments > Strings I have the same 26 presets that I have in V2 (under Presence > Strings). Under Presence > Strings I have 5 folders: Cellos, Contrabass, Solina, Violas, and Violins, with presents in each folder. Cheers Ken, this was my next idea! I was wondering if perhaps the PDF Help manual reflected the latest GUI and if, as it showed, whether or not there should be an actual XT preset sub-folder. I'll check it out. Often the Help manuals are written early and the final edits can have small errors and don't truly show the latest version. |

It needs a true PDF version, too. Hmm.. bugger, Ken. I'm actually only seeing those 26 V2 presets after all. Can you please confirm that in your browser of drop-down list you don't see any mention of presets being identified as 'Presence XT' presets? Cheers for your time. |

| Nope, that pic in the Reference Manual is wrong. OR at least it doesn't match what I see here. No reference to 'XT'. I've attached a pic of how things appear for me, with certain relevant folders expanded, maybe this will help clarify? • Studio One 3.0.0.33329 Professional • Early 2009 Mac NOT 'MAC'* Pro dual 2.26, 16 GB RAM, OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 • Dual Dell 2408WFP (1920x1200 px) monitors • Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD, 6TB SoftRAID array * https://public.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/mac.html |
| Your expanded menu is actually exactly the same as mine in version 2 (which, upon boot-up, asks if I want to activate the new XT soundsets, so they're not in there..) Are you sure you're not experiencing the same problem? Ken, do you know of any XT preset in Strings or Keyboards that is definitively NOT in the old Presence? Something I can search for in S1.3? If not, we can ask the forum for one. By the way, I've asked the Presonus guys for info, too. Thanks for your help, by the way. Really appreciate it. |
| Okay, now I'm pretty sure I have your dilemma sussed. You said GMHague wroteYour expanded menu is actually exactly the same as mine in version 2 (which, upon boot-up, asks if I want to activate the new XT soundsets, so they're not in there..) Wrong assumption! I know it's wonky, but the V3 soundsets ARE in there. The 'activate?' series of screens is a glitch; see this thread for full clarification: viewtopic.php?f=213&t=8915 So that's what's been throwing you off. | p.s. In retrospect, I just discovered an easier way that we could have checked all of this, thanks to a clue gleaned from viewing Bill Edstrom's latest video Studio One 3 - Soundset Installation. If you go to the Files tab in the Browser, open the Sound Sets folder, you'll see the actual sound set file names, including some with 'Presence XT' in them. After checking this out and the links above too, I basically started from scratch and deleted all the Sound Set locations, removed any duplication and renamed folders so there was no ambiguity. Everything is fine now. To be honest, I'm not sure if they were installed and available the whole time (probably), but on the other hand I suspect having the new SS installed in the V2 folder was causing some glitches, too. A bonus is that the video explained which of the Sound Sets were new and which ones I didn't have to download again. Thanks for all your help. Brilliant! |
